Finally, a bath mat with opinions about color. The Toffee Turquoise Bath Mat from SUITE702’s Martens & Martens collection pairs warm, caramel-y toffee with a hit of fresh turquoise and cream. And because committing to one color situation is overrated, the front and back are different. Flip it over. Bathroom plot twist. The graphic design is inspired by Karel Martens’ Colors on the Beach art project for Le Havre, France, bringing a little Dutch design thinking somewhere unexpected: the floor.

Made from 100% GOTS-certified organic combed cotton, it weighs in at a satisfyingly substantial 1000 gsm, with dense, short loops that feel exceptionally soft and plush underfoot. Sustainable, responsibly made, and considerably more interesting than anything that has ever lived next to your toilet.

Karel Martens is a Dutch graphic designer, artist, and educator who has spent decades making color, type, and geometry play very nicely together, while occasionally breaking the rules. Known for bold grids, overlapping forms, and unexpected color combinations, his work manages to be precise without being precious. His Colors on the Beach project for Le Havre, France, inspired SUITE702’s Martens & Martens collection, turning his graphic experiments into towels and bath mats.
